Scholarship Overview

The 2026 P.U.S.H. Inc. Leadership Scholarship was created to support driven upperclassmen students across Alabama who demonstrate leadership, resilience, academic excellence, and a commitment to creating positive change within their communities. One of our  P.U.S.H. Inc Ambassadors, Deonna, a pre-med student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, became a team lead and became a scholarship advocate, inspired by her personal experience navigating the financial challenges that many students face after their freshman year of college.

P.U.S.H. Inc. believes leaders are developed through perseverance, purpose, and determination. This scholarship exists to help alleviate financial burdens while encouraging students to continue growing academically, professionally, and personally as future leaders in their fields. The scholarship will award a one-time scholarship stipend of up to $500 to a deserving upperclassman currently enrolled at an accredited college or university in the state of Alabama.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be a rising college sophomore, junior, or senior attending an accredited college or university in the state of Alabama

• Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

• Identify as Black/African American male or female

• Demonstrate financial need

• Be committed to leadership, personal growth, and community impact

• Be available to attend the scholarship reception in Mobile, Alabama

• All majors are welcome to apply​

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit the following materials:

• Gender

• GPA

• Major (and minor if applicable)

• Resume (1 page maximum)

• Unofficial transcript

• Proof of enrollment for the upcoming Fall semester

Career Goals Statement

Provide a brief statement outlining your career goals and future plans.
Maximum: 500 words

Letter of Recommendation

Applicants must submit one letter of recommendation from a community leader who can speak to the applicant’s leadership, character, and commitment to growth. Recommendations from family members will not be accepted.

The letter must include:

• Full name

• Job title/position

• Phone number

• Email address

• Signature (electronic or handwritten accepted)

• Date

Scholarship Essay

Essay Requirement (750–1,000 words):

Tell your story. What circumstances have shaped you into a leader? Include a quote from an unrecognized leader or influential figure and explain how the quote relates to your personal leadership journey using specific examples.

Your essay should also explain:

• How this scholarship will support your education

• Your future career aspirations

• Your personal leadership development

• Any additional information you believe strengthens your application

Application Limits & Deadline

Applications will be accepted until the application deadline is reached or once 50 completed applications have been submitted, whichever occurs first.
