Nikeland Nichols

A talented musician, community leader, philanthropist, motivational speaker, and mentor, Nikeland Nichols brings a sense of hope wherever he goes. His gift of leadership was brought into fruition at an early age and cultivated throughout high school and his matriculation at Alabama A&M University, where he majored in accounting and minored in music. Nikeland has been afforded the opportunity to servant leader in many capacities. He was the first program director for Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama. He served as case manager and intervention team lead for Minority Behavioral Health/Pastoral Counseling Serv. in Akron, Ohio. He was board president for Bethany Adoption Agency-South Alabama, and currently serves as chair of Mobile’s Education Foundation-Evidence to Success initiative and is board president of Prichard Youth Arts Council, and vice president of Destiny Vision Christian Center. He is a long-standing member of the Original International Martin Luther King Jr. March Committee-Atlanta, where he serves as an MLK youth conference advisor and March & Rally Entertainment Coordinator. This has given him a platform to work along-side of some of our nation’s great civil rights leaders such as Dr. James Orange, Ambassador Andrew Young, Rev. Joseph Lowery, Jamida Organe, and Rev. Bernice King.
Nikeland gained vast insight and experience while working in the field of accounting at Goodyear Crop in Akron, OH, and there upon his return to Mobile, he assisted with the start-up of Nichols Financial Serv. – Mobile, AL location.
Nikeland’s service has not just been in the corporate sector, but music and entertainment also. His musical experiences allowed him the opportunity to write, produce, and arranged for artists such as Grammy nominated artist Kyle Bynoe, Grammy award-winning producer Kevin Dean, and The University of Akron Gospel Choir and more. Not to mention his work with other noted producers, and artists on projects featuring he and his wife, Ebony. He has shared the stage with the likes of Brian Littrell of the Back Street Boys, Ruben Studdard, Kim Burrell, Tamela Mann, Tony Terry, Bishop T.D. Jakes, and more.
Having more than five years of classical training, he has performed on national and international stages, such as The Cleveland House of Blues, One Church Tour, The Bobby Jones Show, Jamaican Outreach, The Urban Impact Summit, Trinity Broadcasting Network, and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Center’s Extravaganza, Off Broadway Productions-PAUL and Porgy & Bess. He has blended his musical talents with his skills as a community leader to serve as Integrity Music’s site entertainment coordinator for Festival of Hope in Mobile, which provided compassionate services to more than 10,000 people Festival of Champions, and Restoring Hope Project of Baldwin County, which assisted families affected by the 2010 Gulf Coast Oil Crisis.
Nikeland’s passion is his work with children and families, assisting them with interventions to make life better. In doing that he served as lead facilitator for Young Leaders of America and was the program director for the University of Mobile’s RamKids Program. He was called to be a part of the curricula design for the YES- Youth Empowered for Success initiative of Mobile County. Nikeland is a noted mentor, counselor, and character intervention specialist. He started a non-profit organization to provide an avenue for continued emotional, spiritual, and financial growth and encouragement to young people and their families, P.U.S.H. (Persevering Under
Severe Hindrance). P.U.S.H. Inc. is sanctioned through Mentor Alabama and has provide services in workforce development, ACT prep, and character interventions for Mobile County Schools and Strickland Youth Center.
Out of all that Nikeland has been afforded to do, his first love is his family, where he enjoys an exciting life with his wife Ebony, their five children, and 2 grands.
